I'm a writer, editor, journalist and translator living in London by way of Barcelona.
My essays have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Millions and the anthologies On Bodies (3 of Cups Press) and Mixed Feelings (Quadrille). My journalism and criticism work has appeared online and in print in The Guardian, The Paris Review, Electric Literature, Literary Review, VICE and more.
I’m also the Literary Editor at Elle UK and European Editor-at-Large at Literary Hub.
I’m currently at work on my debut novel and on a creative non-fiction manuscript on intergenerational trauma, art and healing around the Spanish Civil War. I’ve been awarded an Arts Council England grant (2019), a London Writers Award for Narrative Non-Fiction (2018), an artistic residency by Faber in Catalonia (2018), and a fellowship by the International Journalists’ Programmes in Berlin (2017). I’ve also taken part in the 2019 Tin House Summer Workshop, where I workshopped with NYT-bestselling memoirist Terese Marie Mailhot.
As of June 2018, I run a retreat for women-identifying and non-binary writers in London. Find out more here. I also talk to strangers on the tube about the books they’re reading. Previously, I worked at the Guardian in London and, before that, as a reporter in Spain.
